5 Ways To Support Your Girl Gang This Month

Categories Life

I’ve been thinking and talking a lot about dreams lately. We all have these ideas of where we’d like to be or go some day. And if we are lucky enough to buckle down and get to work, I hope that for many of us those dreams turn into a reality some day. But getting from point A to point B is quite the hike. So in the spirit of sisterhood and support, today I thought I’d share a few ideas on how you can support your girl gang this month. Whether the action is big or small what matters most is showing up for your friends in all parts of the journey.

Be Intentional About Shopping With Them

I’m sure you’ve seen the post that has floated around social media about celebrities who launch businesses and everyone shows up to support. But when your local girl gang starts their own ice cream truck, coffee shop or *insert business here*, you can’t be bothered to support. You know the one, right?

Here’s the thing: I get it. When 17 million of your friends have MLM business and other things going on, it’s hard to dish out your cash with everyone. However, the one thing you can do is be intentional about shopping with them when you can. For me that means waiting until a friend gets a pair of sunglasses back in stock in her boutique instead of buying them on Nordstrom now. Or maybe making the extra effort to buy and try skincare that supports my friends raising her kids.

Whatever it looks like in your life, be intentional about how you show up and support. You don’t have to buy a million items to be a good friend. But if you can find one that works for you and helps support your girl gang, then by all means why wouldn’t you want to?

Shout Them Out On Social Media

This is free and one of my favorites ways to regularly support my girl gang. Shout them out! If your bestie does your hair, tag her in your posts. Maybe one of your girlfriends owns the most amazing store with cute clothes, tell people in your captions. Or if you’ve got a friend like me who writes blog posts you find super helpful, SHARE THEM.

The chances are strong that if you’re loving something someone else in your circle will love it too. Don’t be afraid to tell everyone about the awesome things your friends are doing. Words of encouragement go a long way when you’re fighting to build a business and your dreams. And the two minutes it takes for you to share someone’s work with your other friends will mean more than you could ever imagine.

WRITE THEM A LETTER

No I’m not talking about an email. I’m telling you to get out a pen & paper and write your bestie a letter. When was the last time you got a letter in the mail? It’s little acts of kindness that help support your girl gang in the toughest times. Maybe you’re not a writer. There’s nothing wrong with that. Find a quote on Pinterest and write it instead. All anyone really wants to hear is I love you, I support you and I believe in you. You’ve got this.

You can literally write just that on a piece of paper and send it off. But reminding your friends that you’ve got their backs in this journey will mean the word. And it’s something they can come back to time and time again.

SURPRISE THEM WITH THEIR FAVORITE DRINK OR SNACK

If you haven’t figure out by now, my love languages are words of affirmation & acts of service. It’s the little things that bring me joy when it comes to serving those I love. And it’s also those same small joys that put a smile on my face. If you’re looking for small ways to support your girl gang, food is always a favorite of mine.

Make their favorite dessert and invite them over. Drop off an unexpected snack or their favorite coffee drink. There’s something extra special about getting something you already love from someone you love. People want to know they matter to you. While a drink or a snack might not seem life changing, it’s the little things that we do that show others we care about them.

MAKE TIME TO ASK THEM HOW THINGS ARE GOING & HOW YOU CAN HELP

Also in the spirit of showing our girl gang that we care about them, we can listen. How often do you just ask your friend about her business? How often do you ask her how you can help support her? Do you ask her what’s she struggling with? She may brush you off and say it’s great, thank you for asking. But she might also share something going on in her life you had no idea about. Listening is a free but impactful gift you can give someone. And it’s definitely one I know I need to be better about doing.

When it comes down to supporting your girl gang this month, there’s no one right way to do it. What matters is that you’re showing up and serving your friends in some way. Whether it’s the gift of time, money or words of kindness, there are so many little ways you can show you care.

What’s your favorite way to support your girl gang? I’d love to know what ways you’re showing up and serving in your friends lives! Be sure to leave me a comment below and let me know. Until next time. Xoxo, Savvy
