I’m a bit of a cookbook hoarder. It’s something I’ve come to terms with. I love having tons of options of things to eat and be inspired to cook. But as much as a love a good cookbook, I’m really starting to appreciate the art of a good recipe app. And apparently, I’m not the only one.
Recipe apps have become a more common trend. They provide exclusive recipes for buyers, are easy to use and most allow you to make grocery lists even from the app. It’s perfect for the on the go guy or gal who just wants to pick a few recipes and make their shopping list quickly. Plus, it’s all in one place you’re guaranteed to remember to take with you to the grocery store.
I’ve tried a few over the years but there are only a few I consistently work with. Those tend to be the apps that allow you to search for recipes or save your favorites. Or in my case, they are the recipe apps that have a few of my go to recipes. So today I thought I’d share a few I love if you’re looking for a new way to get in inspired in the kitchen.
This app ideal for the vegan and gluten-free crowd but features recipes everyone will love. Ella is a British blogger, entrepreneur and kick butt babe. She’s killing it with her two deli’s and has even made time to create this amazing app. I often find myself scrolling through when I need inspiration or want to make her soup yet again. Recipes are divided based on type of meal and there is a search option available. The one thing I will note is that measurements may vary from the tradition US methods so be prepared to ask Siri to convert them. Also, if you’re looking for a recipe to try out, be sure to make her Baked Sweet Potato with Rosemary Brazil Nut Cheese. It’s phenomenal.
Angela has been one of my favorite bloggers for years. When I was first diving into a world of healthier, plant based life, I spent many nights looking at her recipes. I recently reviewed her cookbook. You can find that here. The Oh She Glows app features a lot of the recipes you’ll find on Angela’s blog. Occasionally, you’ll find updates available to add more recipes but nothing that costs tons. I use this app quite frequently because it has my favorite cookie recipe ever: Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Crisps. Trust me once you try them you’ll be addicted. They never last longer than 24 hours in our house.
Of all the apps I’ve mentioned, this one easily covers the most diets. Plus, we all know that Jamie is one of my favorite chefs. I’ve always enjoyed his approach to whole food cooking. In recent years, he’s teamed up as an advocate for I Quit Sugar. Overall, his recipes focus on a minimally processed diet.
