What Do I Like?
I LOVE the simplicity of the ingredients. You don’t have to google or research anything because everything is pretty straight forward. I also love that there’s the option for refilling the product. While I haven’t quite hit my sustainability goals, I’m striving to do better. So when a brand makes it easier for me to do this, it’s a win!
What Don’t I Like About The Act & Acre Shampoo?
I really wanted to like the Act & Acre products. And tbh, I still have hope for a few others but more on that in a minute. As far as today’s Act & Acre Review goes, I definitely did a bit of research before hand.
One of the things that I commonly see on the A&A instagram is how to use the shampoo. It doesn’t lather like a traditional product so you have to do a lot of it in your hands prior to putting it in your hair. But from there it was all kind of downhill.
I never felt like my hair got clean. Despite multiple attempts and several days of testing, it just wasn’t happening. Now in true WSS testing fashion, I try to test things as though they would fit into my already established routine and as a solo product. With the current state of my blonde, I’m rotating in purple shampoo at least once a week. Sadly, I never really got to this point because I gave up. I was honestly that over the entire situation.
What Don’t I Like About The Act & Acre Conditioner?
After I’d decided I would return the shampoo, I thought I would give the conditioner one more go to see if it worked on it’s own. No dice. For days, my hair felt awful. Like it wasn’t quite clean but also stripped of everything. And there was no moisture happening in it whatsoever. When I would run my fingers through my hair in the shower, it still felt tangled which is a probably I don’t often find I have to deal with.
