Once upon a time, I was woefully ignorant about chocolate. Well with the exception of that time as a kid I was obsessed with Hershey’s Cookie & Cream chocolate bars. I think a recreation of this beloved childhood treat will have to end up on the blog in the future. Maybe as a birthday cake because that sound delish. I digress. Thankfully, I have seen the error of ways with the help of loads of vegan chocolate (I did a whole post on it) and today’s iced mocha latte recipe.
Truth be told, there’s nothing quite that complicated about making an iced mocha latte. It’s fairly straight forward. But if you don’t have the right syrup, it’s a challenge. And since I recently discovered NuNaturals and their amazing keto, paleo and vegan friendly syrups, we are now able to make all the lattes our little hearts desire.
If you aren’t a coffee person, this syrup would also make for a great hot chocolate. Or if you’re craving a classic peppermint mocha from Starbucks but it’s March 🙋♀️, then you are now officially empowered to do so whenever the craving strikes!
This will work with both espresso or iced coffee. I typically use my nespresso machine to make 2 shots of espresso using the HiLine pods. If you opt for the espresso, I’d recommend putting the syrup in first so the heat from your coffee and blend the chocolate and espresso together seamlessly. I would also suggest pairing this with my creamy homemade nut milk recipe (coming soon!).
But for now, I hope wherever you are in the world that you’re safe, healthy and living your happiest life. Be sure to tag me on instagram if you make this! I love seeing who in our WSS community is making things. Seriously, my love language is words of affirmation so it fills my cup! Sending all the positive vibes and love. Xoxo, Savvy
Iced Mocha Latte
A healthier version of your favorite Starbucks drink. Keto, paleo and vegan friendly!
Ingredients
- 1 cup brewed coffee or 2 shots espresso
- 1/2 cup ice *see note
- 1-2 tbsp mocha syrup **
- 3/4 cup almond milk
Instructions
-
Add coffee (or espresso), mocha syrup and almond milk to a cup. Stir to combine.
-
Add in ice and enjoy!
Recipe Notes
*To keep from watering down my latte, I like to swap the ice out for coffee cubes. Just freeze whatever leftover coffee you have from the day before to use. I love this silicone tray.
**My fave paleo & keto friendly syrup is from NuNaturals. It's got the sweetness without the fake sugar after taste.
