But every now and again, we bump up against the extra frustrating challenge of not knowing what we need or want but knowing that something needs to change.

There’s a thing.

It exists.

It’s not working.

GAH!

It’s magic friends.

And it’s a relationship with often neglect without even realizing it.

So whether you’re your own BFF or simply looking to reconnect with your inner voice, today’s blog post is for you.

We are in charge of our own happiness.

We get to choose it. We get to create it. We get to fill up our souls with all the joy.

But first, we have to understand what that inner us needs to be happy.

We have to nurture her and learn how to hear voice.

Sunday mindset shift idea:

Write a letter to future you!!

Yesterday, I sat down to write four letters to myself to open over the next year.

I set up calendar reminders. Wrote letters in digital form so I can have access no matter where I am. *thank you goodnotes* And I got V honest with where I hope I am and the words I think future me would need to hear in those moments.

So why did I do it?

Well firstly, I love a letter. Words of affirmation is my love language y’all.

But I also know that in order to shift my mindset, I need to find a way to place myself into the future.

I need to sit with future me in that moment and chat with her.

I’ve spent quite a bit of time lately thinking about how 20 year old me would feel about life right now. What she would think if I’d told her all I’d accomplished so far instead of focusing on all the things I haven’t done yet.

I can tell you the thought brought me to tears.

So if you’re stuck right now or just ready to manifest next year at a new level, it’s time to write a letter.

Be your own cheerleader. Remind yourself that you are so loved. Let your mind expand to the amazing things you’re going to see happen in your the next few months.

Everyday we have a choice to change the energy we put out in the world. To define the energy we attract.

So why not get intentional about sending out the good vibes?

I’m ready to forgive myself for who I used to be.

I understand I’m no longer that person and am willing to see myself differently.

I choose to build trust with myself so that I may have the life that I want.

I know I can do hard things. And even if I don’t always believe it, I’m willing to continue to do the work to heal.

Over the years, my relationship with alcohol has been interesting.

I’ve never been interested in being drunk. The party phase wasn’t my scene. And I’m quite content with being the only person in the room sipping on water.

I really just want the fun glass 😂

But as I’ve explored what it looks like for me to have alcohol in my life over the last 6 months, I realized just how often we don’t question it.

We think that the problem is us and not the drug (because that is what it is). And the idea that not drinking means there is something wrong with you can be the reason so many struggle to get help.

I decided a long time ago that I would always be mindful of the habits in my life. I never wanted to be so reliant on something that I couldn’t walk away from it.

I wanted to hold my own power.

So if you’re struggling right now because it feels like there isn’t a safe space for you to say maybe it’s time to take a step back from alcohol, friend I hear you.

It’s okay to not be okay.

It’s okay to ask for help.

And the issue isn’t you. It’s a system the perpetuates the ease of constantly drugging ourselves without regard that we’re doing it.

You’ve got this. 💕
