I’ll be honest, when it comes to doing reviews I can be a bit *critical*. Like I expect a lot from brand/restaurant/company etc before I feel like they’re worthy of your time, ya know? So it’s safe to say when I did my initial review of Pescado a few years ago, I was underwhelmed. Thankfully, I’ve learned to be open to second chances as well as second reviews because today we will be singing a different tune. From underwhelmed to obsessed, Pescado has become one of my favorite 30a destinations in the last year. So let’s get into the details!

Reservations required?
Yes and no. If you can snag them, do it, especially for dinner. But during non-tourist months, think Sept/Oct – end of Feb. you can often find a spot at the bar/bar seating outside with breakfast and lunch.
What’s The Menu Like?
The common thing you’ll find with most restaurants in the Rosemary Beach area is that they have menus that accommodate everyone. Gluten-free? Check. Dairy-Free? Check. Love Seafood? They’ve got it. Hate seafood? You’re good too.
As of now, I haven’t noticed any seasonal menu changes. There may be a few things that come and go with supply options but the classics are constant.
WHAT’S THE PRICE?
The price isn’t anything you wouldn’t expect to pay in Rosemary. Starters cost $12 and up. Meals run $20 and up. And drinks are around $13 for cocktails and wine ranging depending on the type.
WHAT ARE THE PORTION SIZES LIKE?
It absolutely depends on what you get. I’ve ordered starters both times and it’s been perfect for lighter meals. Even splitting a starter like the salad is great. But if you’re really hungry, the meals are a pretty good size.
WHAT’S THE SEATING LIKE?
There is both indoor and outdoor seat. The outdoor/bar area is first come first serve and ideal for a beach lunch with a view. Reservations can be hard to come by so if you’ll looking for a guaranteed dinner spot, make them WAY ahead of time.
When is The best time to go to Pescado?
So while I would imagine that dinner is popular for many reasons (you can’t beat the sunset view), I’m a major fan of lunch and brunch at Pescado. Partly for the ease of getting a last-minute table but also it’s just a calmer vibe.
WHAT’S THE PARKING LIKE?
In general, parking in Rosemary can be a bit hectic but with a little patience/walking or an uber, you can easily get to the restaurant. If you’re traveling with someone who needs to limit their walking, you can easily drop them at the door to the restaurant as it’s on a side street with no direct parking in front.
CAN I FIND THE MENU ONLINE?
Yes! You can find it here.
Do They Accommodate Dietary Restrictions?
I often adapt my menu choices at Pescado with little issue. I.e. asking for no bun with sandwich orders because those are some of my favorite on the menu. But they have yet to ask me if there’s an allergy issue when I do so. If you have Celiacs, I would suggest double-checking that they are up to your required standards as they don’t list gluten or dairy-free on the menu and I would hate to presume their ability to prevent cross-contamination. However, I will be sure to follow up on this post when I can clarify this.
Does Pescado Have A Sister Restaurant?
They do! Although I would consider them less a restaurant and more an evening stop. The Courtyard is located downstairs and offers a very select menu with live music, cocktails and a very bites to eat.
What To Expect Your First Time At Pescado?
Upon arrival, you’ll see a host/hostess that offers seating/information for both the Courtyard and Pescado (upstairs). If you’re looking for a last-minute seat, they can check in with the team upstairs or let you know if there’s a wait. From there, you’ll step into the elevator to go to the 2nd floor. There are only two options. And you’ll immediately find yourself in front of the 2nd host/hostess. Bathrooms are to your direct right.
The entryway is not particularly large and you’re typically seated right away. If you want to sit outside, be sure to let them know as it’s not always the immediate choice.
Depending on the time of day you go, the menu will vary. The brunch menu offers a nice selection of sweet and savory with a few options that are unique to Sunday brunch. I’ll be doing a blog post in the new few weeks on my must-order items from the Pescado menu so make sure you’re signed up for the newsletter so you don’t miss it.
Have you been to Pescado yet? If so, let us know in the comments what your favorite thing was! And if you have any questions, be sure to come find me on Instagram.
