Plant Based at the Beach: Rosemary Beach

Categories Florida

Well hello friends. Long time no see. I apologize for my absence recently. My family and I have been going through a challenge season and it’s taken my time & energy away from the blog. But I’m back and super excited to share the next installment of Plant Based at the Beach feat. Rosemary Beach.

I’ve been a fan of Rosemary for quite some time. This wonderful area is one of my favorite places to do a day of wandering around and just relaxing. It is a frequent feature in my social media. So I’m excited to share some of the best stops for food if you’re in the area. Let’s get started shall we?

Breakfast

Amavida I mentioned this mini-chain in my Plant Based at the Beach feat. Seaside. They actually have 3 locations but it’s always a good place to pop in for a stunning latte or a soothing cup of tea. I always start here and then wander to The Hidden Lantern next door to peruse the books. It’s the best.

~Note: There is another breakfast option but it’s going in a different category. check out the best overall section below.

Lunch

Cowgirl Kitchen – Tucked in between a few stops on main street, this restaurant does a great job at covering multiple meal times. From avocado toast at breakfast to tacos all day, you’re bound to find a plant based friendly option that can be adapted any time of the day. It’s a great option if you’re looking to feed a group with diverse tastes.

Small Bites & Sweets

Amazingly enough, I’ve found that there are more places in the area that would qualify for this category than normal. But nevertheless, they have options available to accommodate a vegan diet.

The Sugar Shak –Ā Think ice cream shop but a step up. The name perfectly describes the essences of this sugar wonderland. Pop in here if you’re looking to satisfy a sweets craving.

La Crema Tapas & Chocolate One thing I miss about living in Atlanta is the number of tapas places available. So I was super excited when I found out about this place. Unfortunately, their menu doesn’t have tons of plant based friendly options. They feature a lovely spinach salad and a few other bites.

If you catch them when they have hummus available, they do a wonderful job. They also have a great wine selection. If you’re looking to chill out between bike rides, this is a great place to go.

Havana Beach Rooftop Lounge –Ā Of course if you’re at the beach, you’d like to be able to enjoy it while you’re eating as often as possible. This rooftop lounge found on top of The Pearl is great for doing just that. They feature a few appetizer like foods that are vegan friendly but I’d recommend this place for the view.

Dinner

Havana Beach Bar & Grill –Ā The Pearl also features another restaurant within its walls. This Havana has your standard salads that could be adapted but it also offers a Black Quinoa & Cauliflower dish. If you’re looking to each something geared more towards plant based people, definitely check them out.

Drinks

Edward’s Fine Food & Wine –Ā If you’re looking for a late night place to enjoy music and a nice glass of wine, look no further. Edward’s has live music every night. Enjoy a glass of wine and remember you are truly on vacation.

Wild Olives –Ā I could honestly put this place in several categories. But because their menu leaves you ordering only salads, I thought it best suited here. If you’re looking for something to nibble at and a glass of wine, I’d highly suggest trying them out. The staff is lovely and their wine selection is wonderful.

Top Choice for All Meals

The Summer Kitchen Cafe –Ā If you’re looking for somewhere you can find something at all meal, this is the winner. From black bean burgers at lunch to a lentil dish at dinner, you’ll find something available you can eat all day. This is by far the winner of the Rosemary Beach restaurants for covering all the bases. Make sure you check it out during your visit!

I think it’s wonderful that there are so many plant based friendly options available these days. Unfortunately, not everyone offers dishes that don’t have to be heavily adapted to make a meal work. Because of this there are a few local restaurants I’ve left off. I’m sure they are wonderful but my goal is to try to provide as many non-salad dinner options as possible.

The other thing of note with this area is seating. Quite a few of these places if not all offer outdoor seating. For some of them, it’s simply because they have very limited indoor seating options. Just be aware you may need to take your sunglasses with you for your meal time adventures. We do like our sunshine here in Florida.

I hope that this breakdown of Rosemary will help you navigate where to eat on your next vacation. I’ll do my best to keep you updated should any menus change or items be added.

Until next time

Xoxo,

Savannah
