Six End Of Year Goals

Categories Life

I’ve never been one for new year’s resolutions. I have nothing against them. But personally, I know that setting goals at the beginning of the year isn’t going to be much different than if I started tomorrow. Now that being said I will set short term and long term goals for myself. I’m all about having the little wins in my corner to continue to motivate me to do things. I’ll look at where I’d like to be by the end of the year. And then I’ll break down the smaller goals that help me get there. So maybe swap the word resolution for goals and it’s more up my alley.

With the holiday season rapidly approaching, I’m starting plans for what that looks like at Savee & Savory. I’ve been working on creating all kinds of lists for holiday shopping and content coming your way. I’m so excited! But I’ve also been looking at what I’ve accomplished this year and what I still want to do. Every day is an opportunity to start anew. So let’s set some end of year goals, shall we?

Catch Up On Game of Thrones

Several of my best friends will read this and laugh. It’s taken me ages to get anywhere with GOT. Every time I start the show I end up waylaid by something else. Honestly, this is probably been a goal for a while now but one I’ve never written down. I even bought 3 seasons on Black Friday last year to help me try to accomplish it. Regardless, my goal is to get caught up by the end of the year. Even with all the new tv coming out, I’m going to have to prioritize. Is it a silly goal? Probably. But the part of me that loves checking things off lists will rejoice when I finally catch up on this well loved show.

Hit My Activity Goals Daily

I have a post coming next week about what I’m doing to stay motivated with my fitness these days. And this daily goal is a main part of it. The weather has cooled down so I’m making more an effort to take daily walks. But for my general health and well being, I’m striving to be active throughout the day. Again, it’s not a massive goal but it’s something that makes a big difference in the long run.

Explore More

Because what I do involves a creative side I’ve not always tapped into, I find that some times I don’t know how to recharge it. And more often than not I’ll speed through things instead of taking time to explore and enjoy. I’m in a season of my life where travel doesn’t always happen as often as I’d like it. So my goal is explore more of where I am currently. I want to find all the hidden treasures to share with you guys and find new ways to be inspired myself.

I’ve collected quite a stack of books in the last two years. Many of which were recommendations from other people but I’ve yet to read them. I also put a mini book haul on my youtube channel yesterday you can find here. I have so many books. Lately, my reading habits have been geared towards non-fiction. But I think if I can read at least 10 books by the end of the year I’ll be happy.

Get More Comfortable Vlogging

If you haven’t figured out by now, I have a youtube channel. It’s new for me and I’m still learning to feel comfortable in front of the camera rather than being behind it. Plus, I live with others and I don’t always have the freedom to film like I would prefer. But I’d like to take you guys on these adventures I plan on having and that means getting more comfortable with randomly filming out and about. I know the only way to get better is to do it. So I’m stating my goal for you guys to help keep me accountable on. Let’s go on youtube adventures together!

Do A Massive Cleansing Of Things

Before I moved last year, I read Marie Kondo’s The Life Changing Magic of Tiding Up*. If you haven’t heard of it, the essence is that you keep only what brings you joy. I cleaned out a good chunk of clothes and other items which was helpful prior to moving. But I can feel that it’s time for another good cleanse. Purging things always makes me feel good. I think it’s the ability to see results so quickly that I find satisfying. It’s probably why I clean when I’m stressed. I can feel like I’ve accomplished something. I want to end this emotional roller coaster of a year better than it started. And maybe a good clean out will do just that!

I honestly could probably find more goals if I kept thinking for a while but I think six is a good number to stop at. It’s a manageable amount of things I can accomplish in the next two-ish months. Plus, I have some other long terms goals I’m working towards that I’ll happily share when they are accomplished. What are your end of year goals? Do you like to set goals for yourself? I’d love to know what you’re currently working towards! Leave me a comment below and let me know.
