It’s officially April and for me that means it’s time to fully embrace my spring wardrobe. I know that technically spring starts in March but it hasn’t really felt like it yet. Nevertheless I’m excited to finally welcome a new season of clothes into my life.
Florida is pretty consistent in how it does weather. We are either really hot or strangely cold. But there is this nice stretch during this time of year that lets you wear fun dresses, cute tops and lots of hats without sweating to death. So let’s chat about all the items I’m planning on adding to my spring wardrobe.
LINEN JUMPSUITS
I snagged a linen jumpsuit on a recent shopping trip and it’s become a favorite. When it comes to fabrics, I like to have the option of loose & light clothing. Humidity can be too much on heavier fabrics and that just doesn’t work well. As of now, I’ve only added the one jumpsuit. But I’ve got my eye out for another. I love how easily you can dress them up or down. Plus it’s the perfect item to transition from spring until summer.
STRAW BAGS
Last year, I saw thisĀ Cult Gaia bag*Ā everywhere. And while it’s very cute, it also doesn’t fit a ton of stuff. Personally, I have a cheaper dupe and I’m glad I opted not to invest. I can only really use it on a night out. But one thing I’ve had my eye on this year is a straw bag. I love the lighter look and it’s more practical. It means I can carry around my vlogging camera and my x-t2. Plus, it goes well with the beach vibes I’ve been embracing lately. I’ve seen quite a few around but finding one that’s actually sturdy and worth the price is a challenge. Currently, my eye is on the star grass bag from Nordstrom. I love the size of it and the stars add the extra bit of fun.

WAIST LEVEL JACKETS
I’m not sure if I’ll ever be as into capsule wardrobes as The Anna Edit but I do love her approach. Each season she looks at the gaps in her clothing and shops specifically with those in mind. For me, I’m seriously lacking waist cut jackets. I’ve noticed that lately my go to choice is longer cardigans and my jean jacket. And while I love both, I find that they don’t always fit what I’m looking for or flatter my outfit best. Currently, I’m on the hunt for something that isn’t too heavy and hits me just above the hips. It’s perfect for layering at night or pairing with a t-shirt and jeans on lazier days.

ESPADRILLES
This year I’ve been truly embracing the beach life. And for some reason, it’s gave me a serious obsession with espadrilles. I had a few on my wishlist last season and never got around to buying them. If you read my March favorites, you’ll know I’ve already snagged the Treasure & Bond wedges. But I’ve also recently added the Soludos leather espadrilles. They are perfect for a quick shoe that works with almost everything. Also, they are super comfy. If you’re not into loafers or want something a bit more spring wardrobe friendly, I’d consider checking them out.

Ā T-Shirt Dresses
In an ideal world, we’d all be instagram ready 24/7. But there are far too many mornings that involve dry shampoo and quickly thrown on make up in my life for that. This also means I need a good throw on dress in my spring wardrobe as well. I’ve seen a few t-shirt dresses around but I haven’t settled on one yet. Ideally, I like something that comes in at the waist and doesn’t hang like a bag on me. Plus it’s perfect for when you want to be cute but really can’t be bother to think past one item of clothing. Add in your newly purchased espadrilles and a straw bag, and you’re living your best spring life. Oh and maybe an iced matcha to complete the look.
