I’ve never really been one for seasonal make up. I think that’s mostly because I didn’t have time to play with it or wasn’t inspired. But this fall my make up bag is a bit more curated than usual. Filled with warm colored eye shadows and light colored lips, I’ve never had more fun playing with my make up in the morning.
But I have to give credit where credit is due. All of this make up inspiration comes from one place: the Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette* (ps this is on sale at Nordstrom currently). I’ve been loving playing with the orange and burgundy hues to create different looks. We don’t really get seasons here in Florida but a girl can pretend with this palette. It’s been my go to for every day looks from simple eyes to bold smoked out looks. I’m obsessed.
As for foundation, things are slightly different. For the last month or so, I’ve been on a bit of a use up kick. I’ve collected samples that are just a smidgen too dark and I’ve been mixing them with lighter shades to create my own little foundation combo. It’s effective but not necessarily my favorite. I think I’ve resigned myself to giving away any of the darker shades that don’t fit and will go back to my ever constant: It Cosmetics CC Cream*.
When it comes to mascara, I’m constantly changing and trying new ones. I’ll admit I’m a bit of a mascara snob though. I like for my lashes to look a certain way and if a mascara doesn’t cut it, I don’t keep it around long. I’m also not opposed to layering them. My two current in rotation are L’Oreal’s Lash Paradise* & Lancome Grandiose Extreme Mascara* (also on sale at Nordstrom). Lash Paradise has made a quite a name for itself recently. The first time I used it I wasn’t a fan. I didn’t feel like it separated my lashes like I prefer. But the 2nd time around it claimed an official spot in my mascara rotation.
Because of my obsession with mascara, I’ve never really focused on my brows. It might not make sense but it’s just always been the way I’ve operated. It’s only been in the past few months that I’ve begun to appreciate how necessary it is for me to do both. I’ve been testing a few products recently but my current faves range from drugstore to mid-range pricing. For the front portion of my brows I use NYX Procession Brow Pencil* and overall I fill in with Benefit Gimme Brow*. This combo helps to balance out any patches that aren’t as full and gives me even brows. It’s the best!
My current bronzer isn’t new to my rotation nor is my blush. I’ve been using Benefit’s Hoola Bronzer* & Nar’s Blush in Goulue* for a while now. I don’t tend to switch these up because only so many colors really flatter my skin. But occasionally a sample or some wonder product will stumble on my radar and into my bag full time. My highlighter tends to be pretty consistent as well. I’ve been using Mac’s Oh My Darling for a few months now. The golden tones work better for my eye make up looks generally. Plus, I love using it as an inner corner highlight.
Lip color is where I tend to be all over the place. I have a few nudes in rotation at all times. But I consistently find myself using Wet N’ Wild’s Nudist Peach* with the occasional velvet lip color on top to change the tone. I’ve struggled for a while to find the right lip to go with my Naked Heat Palette looks and this has become my go to.
So there you have it. A very in depth look at my current fall rotation. There may be a few changes on occasion but this combo stays pretty constant. Who else is ready for all the fall things?
