As my travel plans unfold for the year, I can’t help but look back at my most recent one-night stay. A hotel synonymous with Atlanta legend, it features a well-known and frequent spot for passing celebrities, artists, and curious locals: The Clermont Lounge. I was lucky enough to snag a night at the hotel over the holiday. I’m excited to share some of favorite features of this beloved Atlanta staple, Hotel Clermont.
Checking In To Hotel Clermont
Location, Location, Location
The hotel is a few blocks from Ponce City Market. Tucked on a street much like downtown Atlanta, the roads are narrow, sporadically busy, and full of life. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by valet parking. The only option for parking at this establishment. Thankfully there’s plenty of space to get in and out with a large paved area directly in front of the hotel.
Inside Hotel Clermont
Warm, simple, and bright, the hotel lobby suits the welcoming, cozy mood for an evening arrival and the calm exit of the morning. The bohemian style features a mix of bamboo furniture and green couches with fig leaf accents. Both subtle and almost out of place for the location of the hotel. But the staff is welcoming – offering a check-in beverage for the humans and a branded dog treats for the furry guests.
The Rooms Of Hotel Clermont
Staying at theĀ Hotel ClermontĀ offers a variety of unique rooms featuring everything from bunk beds to double queens and more. I chose a king room hoping for more space and a few extra features while planning to shoot content for several blog posts. The bed was a dream and made for the coziest home away from home.
The hotel itself was easy to navigate and not much different than other boutique styles I’ve stayed in over the last few years. It reminded me much of our stay at The Graduate in Nashville, TN with its separate rooftop elevator, coffee shop & floor-level store as well as its convenient location to some of my favorite places in Atlanta. There is a uniqueness but also a comfortable familiarity with the hotel.
The Hotel Clermont Features
So many things. From the rooftop bar to the lobby bar to the onsite restaurant as well as the cafe, you’re more than covered with options. While not shown on the website, the hotel does have a gym on-site, is pet friendly, and offers free wifi. You’ll find a small coffee machine in your room (the standard hotel variety) as well as regular & decaf options in addition to hotel chocolate and water bottles. However, if you would like ice, you’ll need to request it from the front desk.
Places To Visit Near The Hotel Clermont
I’ve grown to love Ponce City Market as a regular stop during my Atlanta stays. This time our destination was the rooftop restaurants with hopes of snagging an igloo for a wintery evening. No igloo this time but it was fun to see a whole area I’d yet to explore. You’re also close to The Beltline, Botanical Gardens (highly recommend catching any of the seasonal light displays) as well as The Plaza Theater. And if you’re in the mood for a few other Atlanta staples, SkyWheel, the Georgia Aquarium, and the Coca-Cola factory are not too far away.
For me, this hotel was the perfect mix of convenience and comfort paired with all the things I love about Atlanta: film, history, and the random local food find. It was the perfect escape for a night away over the holidays. I certainly can’t wait to go again during the summer months to check out the rooftop bar and cafe.
If you’ve stayed at Hotel Clermont, I’d love to know what you thought. What’s your favorite part of the historic hotel? And if you love a luxury or solo travel moment as much as I do, make sure you’re signed up for the weekly newsletter so you never miss a thing. Until next time. Xoxo, Savvy
